Ximena has been curious about art since ever. When the perfect moment in her life came, she began writing about the intersection between art and law, took photography private lessons with Lorena Noblecilla, a sculpture workshop in Corriente Alterna (Lima, Peru) with Haroldo Higa, and became a member of the British and Peruvian-American chambers of art in Peru.
In 2017, when Ximena began her doctoral studies at Yale, she decided she wanted to learn from the Yale University Art Gallery, one of the best university-based art museums in the United States. Since then, she joined the gallery as a Wurtele Gallery Teacher—the only law school graduate of the gallery teacher cohort during the last three years. Ximena has been trained by the Gallery’s educators and curators—including former J. Paul Getty Museum director, John Walsh—as museum educator and responsible for the K-12, youth, adults, and visitors with special needs teaching at the museum.
